Why is it that we have to be better than others to feel good and special about ourselves? Remember that one time in PE class you just had to score a goal or run faster than someone else? Or that time you won the match against this strong team? Or the time you beat everyone else in class in a math exam? Remember the triumph you felt when you succeeded? And do you remember the sinking and unhappy feeling when you tried so hard but lost?
Why are we wired this way? I think it is quite sad, I am guilty of it. I think most of us are.
Can you think of when this does not apply?
